Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's Lofaso invites you discover her worldview by the food she cooks. She developed a curiousity about food when she moved from suburbs of Long Island to the diverse culture in Los Angeles. Cavatelli and Carnitas can be found to blend seamlessly on the menu, a belief which has evolved through many years. With every dish she serves she draws a picture which is distinctive and expresses a longing for the old. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in 2013. The restaurant was opened by her due to her American-born Italian heritage. Lofaso's interpretation of classic Italian cuisine is one of the most sought-after restaurants in Los Angeles. Lofaso serves consistently delicious meals at Scopa which is a favorite of the neighborhood. The patrons call it authentic and satisfying. Lofaso was an apprentice of culinary experts learning their methods as well as taking risks. She was not afraid to take risks to pursue her intuition. She swiftly rose up the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago after which she went further to collaborate with celebs in several Los Angeles kitchens. In the year 2011, Lofaso worked with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to debut Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. The Lofaso is now settling at Black Market, and through the partnerships that she created. Lofaso was able to achieve her dream of creativity by working with her. Black Market has no one plan in sight and that's the way it goes. The menu could start with potato chips dill, shishito chilies and then move on to an Korean food item called meatballs, and wings. Antonia, the chef who created this delicious menu full of bold flavors is what anchors it all. Throughout her career Lofaso has measured her success through her ability to comprehend her audience but still remain true to her own personality. The Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate her self outside of the culinary environment. In the years since she's continued to pursue her career in front of cameras with CNN's Restaurant Startup Judge and recurring appearances on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso joined forces with Penguin at the end of 2012 in order to launch The Busy Mother's Cookbook, 100 Recipes for Delicious homemade Meals. The book tells her story about the obstacles she faced while going to an institution called the French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso insists that the source of driving force behind her accomplishments is her kitchen. Through this, she is always on the pulse. Chefletics transforms the way chefs dress by blending style with function. Lofaso wants to be true to the vision of her clients. She's created Antonia Lofaso Catering to help achieve that.
